THERE IS A NEW SUN IN PARADISE
"Book the best restaurant in paradise now and you wil return time and time again. We know we will..." : Hampie & Suzy de Kock

THE SALES PITCH
Beauty, safety, peace, tranquility and quality, surrounded by nature, and named after the unique Coco de Mer Palm tree which, although extremely rare, occurs in abundance in the tropical forests surrounding the property.
This modern four star hotel lies in over 200 acres of natural beauty on the edge of the Indian Ocean. Spacious grounds, comfortable rooms, private location and a friendly atmosphere offering spectacular views of the surrounding islands, forested mountainsides and glorious sunsets.
THE TRUTH
The "sales pitch" above is an understatement. Seriously, this experience is excellent and the humble words on the web site only reflect the true down to earth and caring nature of every single staffer at this very excellent hotel.
Best ever welcome to any hotel, anywhere, in our experience - and this after an obnoxious bird grounded the Air Seychelles flight destined for OR Tambo International. Pressure mounts as you depart for Christmas & New Year in paradise and your only hope is that you will actually be on the flight because the next plane is slightly smaller.
We knew no one at the hotel, but thanks to an expert by name: Jane James at Seyunique - the most awarded tour operator to Seychelles, the hotel management knew us very, very well. Andrew received us with open arms yet exceptionally professional but so relaxed you knew you were in another world. We latched on, even though expired and wide eyed after a night over the Indian and a quick hop to Praslin Island over the Indian Ocean.
We really have to thank Mr. Ash Behari a hotel executive that chooses his words carefully and knows when to commit and when not. If you missed your father in paradise, Ash would be an excellent stand in, a man amongst men...
Why do we recommend this hotel? There is not enough space here and we have a show in seven weeks, so simply these few thoughts and some images. It is the best ever experience of paradise ever for us. Yes everything is double over the “busy season” – but it is worth every single penny in the end. Coco de Mer Hotel was so excellent we cancelled our Hotel in Mahe (the main island), extended our stay at Coco de Mer, and paid even more money (with a smile).
We just had to prolong and indulge in the brilliance of Executive Chef; Sudarsawa Weliwitigoda, Executive Sous Chef; Wilson Lesperance and Executive Pastry Chef Don Katugampala. As we said, if you are serious about a good restaurant booking, you will have to book, fly, fly again, be welcomed like never before and stay a little while, extend your stay – if you are lucky there will be a cancellation - say difficult good bye’s, and fly, fly again and then you are home...
Thank you Jane and Ash for working on Christmas Eve and making our extended stay so special.
A huge thank you to all the service, reception, porter, restaurant and beach staff. You are the reason many of Coco de Mer’s guests will return over many years to come.
